Jarret M. Janis, Barrister & Solicitor

Jarret Janis is a partner at Taylor Janis LLP. He practices exclusively in workplace law matters, including everything from wrongful dismissal matters to complex commercial and shareholder disputes, and executive compensation and severance. Prior to founding Taylor Janis LLP, he practiced at a well known employment law firm in Vancouver, BC. Over the course of several years of litigation experience, he has developed a well-rounded employment law practice having represented various employers and employees with respect to their workplace-related problems. He has successfully negotiated numerous out-of-court settlements for his clients, and he frequently litigates workplace-related matters before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench.

He studied at the university of Alberta before receiving the degree of Juris Doctor from Western University’s Faculty of Law.

He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of British Columbia, and the Canadian Bar Association.

Lee Satveit, Barrister & Solicitor

Lee Satveit is a lawyer in the firm’s Edmonton Office. Michelle Cooze, Barrister & Solicitor

Michelle is a lawyer in Taylor Janis’ Calgary office.  She provides legal advice and representation to employer and employee clients in the following areas of workplace law:  wrongful dismissal, severance review, termination practices, employment agreements and executive compensation.  Prior to joining the firm, Michelle was senior legal counsel at a large utilities company, and represented clients with various legal matters, in the course of general practice.

She has a B.Sc. from Memorial University, a LL.B. from Dalhousie University and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
