Tori Chiu
WORKPLACE LAWYER, EDMONTON
About Tori Chiu
Tori trained and practiced at a leading national firm in corporate and securities law, advising public and private companies on complex legal and business matters. Working extensively with major issuers and senior management teams allowed Tori to gain practical insight into how organizations approach risk, governance, and key personnel decisions.
Tori has also worked in the in-house legal departments of two major public issuers, including a leading global agricultural inputs and agribusiness company and a top Canadian oil and gas company engaged in large-scale production, refining, and fuel distribution. These roles involved working closely with business leaders on a broad variety of legal issues, including employment-related matters, compensation structures, and contractual arrangements involving employees and executives.
Tori has extensive behind-the-scenes knowledge of how employers operate, including their governance frameworks, commercial arrangements, contracts, and incentive plans. Tori’s understanding of how large companies operate provides a clear perspective on how employment decisions are made, documented, and defended, particularly when it comes to advising clients in workplace disputes and wrongful dismissal matters.
