Joel Fairbrother, Barrister & Solicitor

Joel Fairbrother is a lawyer in the firm's Calgary office. Lee Satveit, Barrister & Solicitor

Lee Satveit is a lawyer in the firm’s Edmonton Office. He also acted as in-house counsel for a technology company in Toronto, worked for a financial regulator in B.C., and has worked for a professional regulatory association in Alberta. Lee obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Alberta and he was called to the bar in Alberta in 2012.

Sophie Purnell, Barrister & Solicitor

Prior to joining Taylor Janis LLP, Sophie worked for a prominent Calgary law firm. Sophie’s experience and interest in employment law began prior to law school. Before obtaining her law degree from the University of Calgary, Sophie worked in human resources in the oil and gas industry. Sophie also worked for the Alberta Human Rights Commission and clerked for the Provincial Court of Alberta in Calgary. In law school, Sophie volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and assisted clients with human rights issues in the context of employment and tenancy matters.

Sophie understands how emotionally challenging employment disputes can be. She aims to develop practical, cost-effective and sensible solutions for her clients. Sophie also provides legal services in French.

Wilson McCutchan, Barrister & Solicitor

Colin Flynn, Barrister & Solicitor

Trevor Kelly, Barrister & Solicitor

Trevor Kelly is a lawyer in the firm’s Edmonton office. Trevor maintained a general practice for eight years prior to joining the firm. He has extensive litigation experience and has successfully represented clients before the Provincial Court, the Court of Queens’ Bench and the Court of Appeal of Alberta, as well as the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories. Trevor has also represented clients before the Alberta Human Rights Commission and the Labour Relations Board.
