Allison Hill
WORKPLACE LAWYER, VANCOUVER
About Allison Hill
Allison practices workplace law at our Vancouver office. She assists clients with a range of workplace issues, including wrongful dismissals, severance package reviews, employment contracts, workplace disputes, human rights issues, and WorkSafeBC matters.
Allison is particularly experienced in handling workplace matters involving human rights, health, disability, injury, and accommodation. With a background in kinesiology and law and experience supporting clients through WorkSafeBC and discrimination matters, she brings a depth of perspective to issues where health and employment intersect. Allison is deeply passionate about the sports and entertainment industries and has a particular interest in workplace and contractual matters arising within these sectors.
Prior to joining Taylor Janis, Allison worked at a busy Vancouver criminal defence firm, where she developed a strong foundation in litigation and advocacy. She regularly appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia and also appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Allison was part of the appellant advocate team in R. v. Cooper, 2026 BCSC 1130, a successful appeal before the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Allison places a strong emphasis on developing trusted relationships with her clients. She understands that workplace issues can be stressful and deeply personal and believes that effective advocacy begins with listening to each client’s circumstances, concerns, and goals. Allison strives to ensure her clients feel heard and supported, to understand their rights and options, and to provide practical advice tailored to what matters most to her valued clients.
A dual Canadian and Australian citizen, Allison obtained her Juris Doctor from Bond University in Australia, graduating with Class 1 Distinction, specializing in Canadian Law and Practice. Allison remains actively involved with Bond University as a member of its Alumni Executive Committee.
Prior to law school, Allison obtained her Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia. She remains connected to the UBC Kinesiology community, returning as an alumna to speak with current students about the diverse career paths available to kinesiology graduates and her own transition from kinesiology to law.
Outside the firm, Allison is an avid traveller who enjoys exploring new places around the world. She also enjoys staying active and taking in Vancouver’s sports and entertainment scene. A passionate sports fan, Allison is involved with Girls at the Games, a women-led sports media company focused on amplifying women’s voices and perspectives in sport. She is also a lifelong film, television, and theatre enthusiast and can often be found at a game, catching a new release, or seeing a live performance.
