About Rasheed McClean-Barrow
Rasheed McClean-Barrow joined Taylor Janis LLP as a Student-at-Law in March 2026. He brings a diverse legal and public-service background, having accumulated more than seven years of experience supporting legal, regulatory, and litigation-related matters across Canada and the Caribbean.
Prior to commencing his articles, Rasheed worked in a variety of legal roles supporting corporate, tax, litigation, and regulatory practices. His experience includes legal research, drafting, regulatory compliance, and complex file management. Through these roles, he developed a strong attention to detail, an analytical approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering practical and client-focused solutions.
Rasheed’s interest in labour and employment law stems from both his academic studies and his professional experiences working with individuals navigating significant workplace and legal challenges. He completed an LL.B. before pursuing an LL.M. in Canadian Common Law at Osgoode Hall Law School, where he focused on employment law, workplace discrimination, and alternative dispute resolution. His studies strengthened his interest in the evolving relationship between employers and employees and reinforced his desire to advocate for fair and respectful workplaces.
Before entering the legal profession, Rasheed served as a Police Constable with the Royal Barbados Police Force. That experience provided him with a unique foundation in investigation, evidence gathering, conflict resolution, and professional accountability. It also instilled the discipline, resilience, and interpersonal skills that continue to inform his approach to legal practice today. His experience working directly with individuals from diverse backgrounds has given him a practical understanding of the human side of conflict and the importance of thoughtful advocacy.
Rasheed is particularly interested in employment litigation, workplace investigations, human rights issues, and the resolution of complex workplace disputes. He is committed to developing into a skilled advocate who combines sound legal analysis with practical solutions that help clients navigate challenging situations with confidence.
Outside of the office, Rasheed enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, and taking advantage of opportunities to stay active. A devoted dog lover, he can often be found spending time with his four-legged companions whenever he is not immersed in legal work. He also enjoys continuous professional development and staying current with developments in labour and employment law.
